Gilbert x New Zealand Rugby Trick Shot Challenge Competition

Terms and Conditions

 

1. Promoters

The Trick Shot Challenge (“Competition”) is jointly promoted by: 

  • GRAY-NICOLLS Sports Pty Ltd (GNS) (ABN 75 004 999 044) of 45 Wangara Road, Cheltenham VIC 3192, Australia. Phone: +61 (0)3 8541 9999. The registered office for GRAY-NICOLLS Sports Pty Ltd in Auckland is RSM House, Level 2, 62 Highbrook Drive, East Tamaki, Auckland. Gilbert is a brand owned by GRAY-NICOLLS Sports ("Gilbert"); and 

  • New Zealand Rugby Union (“NZ Rugby”), 

collectively referred to as “the Promoters”. 

2. Competition Period

The Competition opens at 12:00am AEST on 6 July 2025 and closes at 11:59pm AEST on 20 July 2025 (“Competition Period”). Entries received outside this period will not be eligible. 

3. Eligibility

3.1.  The Competition is open to residents of Australia and New Zealand only. 

3.2.  The Competition is open to all ages. Entrants under the age of 18 must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to enter and to claim any prize. 

3.3.  Employees, contractors, and immediate family members of Gilbert, NZ Rugby, and any associated agencies are not eligible to enter. 

3.4.  By entering, participants confirm they meet the eligibility requirements set out in these Terms & Conditions. 

4. How to Enter

To enter the Competition, participants must, during the Competition Period: 

4.1.  Film a video of themselves performing a trick shot using a Gilbert x NZ Rugby branded ball or any Gilbert rugby ball; 

4.2.  Post the video to their Instagram Story or Feed and/or TikTok Feed; and 

4.3.  Tag @gilbertrugby_ausnz and either @allblacks or @blackferns in the post. 

Entries that do not meet all three requirements will be deemed ineligible. Entries submitted via direct message, email, or any other method will not be accepted. 

Only one entry per person is permitted. Multiple entries from the same account will result in all entries from that account being disqualified. 

5. Entry Requirements & Content Standards

Entries must: 

  • Be original content created by the entrant; 

  • Feature a Gilbert rugby ball (Gilbert x NZ Rugby branded or standard Gilbert ball); 

  • Not contain any content that is offensive, defamatory, discriminatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable; 

  • Not infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party; 

  • Comply with the community guidelines and terms of service of Instagram and TikTok; and 

  • Not feature other commercial branding or sponsorship without prior written approval from the Promoters. 

The Promoters reserve the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with these requirements, at their absolute discretion. 

6. Judging & Winner Selection

6.1.  Following the close of the Competition Period, the Promoters will review all eligible entries and select the top 5 finalists based on creativity, skill, and entertainment value. 

6.2.  The top 5 finalist videos will be reposted to the @gilbertrugby_ausnz Instagram page. The public will be invited to vote for their favourite entry by commenting on the post. 

6.3.  The entry that receives the highest number of comments/votes on the finalist post will be declared the winner. 

6.4.  In the event of a tie, the Promoters reserve the right to select the winner at their discretion. 

6.5.  The Promoters’ decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the judging or outcome. 

6.6.  The winner will be announced via the @gilbertrugby_ausnz Instagram page following the conclusion of voting. 

7. Prize

7.1.  There is one (1) prize available, comprising: 

  • Bledisloe Cup Game 1 – Sideline Experience at Eden Park, Auckland on 10 October 2026; and 

  • The Ultimate All Blacks/Black Ferns x Gilbert Ball Pack. 

7.2.  Full details of the Bledisloe Cup Sideline Experience, including inclusions and logistics, will be confirmed by NZ Rugby and communicated to the winner upon prize notification. 

7.3.  The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and has no cash alternative. 

7.4.  The Promoters reserve the right to substitute any element of the prize with an alternative of equal or greater value if the stated prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the Promoters’ control. 

7.5.  Any costs not expressly included in the prize description (including but not limited to travel to Auckland, accommodation, and incidental expenses) are the sole responsibility of the winner. 

7.6.  The winner must be available to attend the Bledisloe Cup Game 1 on 10 October 2026. If the winner is unable to attend, the prize will be forfeited and the Promoters may select an alternate winner at their discretion.

8. Prize Notification & Claiming

8.1.  The winner will be contacted via direct message on the social media platform through which their winning entry was submitted, within seven (7) days of the voting period concluding. 

8.2.  The winner must respond within seven (7) days of notification to claim their prize. Failure to respond within this timeframe may result in forfeiture of the prize and selection of an alternate winner. 

8.3.  The winner may be required to provide proof of identity and, if under 18, evidence of parental or guardian consent before the prize is issued.

9. Intellectual Property & Content Permissions

9.1.  Entrants retain ownership of their entry content. 

9.2.  By entering the Competition, entrants grant the Promoters a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, publish, share, and adapt their entry (in whole or in part) across the Promoters’ owned social media channels, websites, and marketing materials, with or without credit to the entrant. 

9.3.  Entrants confirm that their entry does not infringe the rights of any third party, and indemnify the Promoters against any claims arising from the entry content. 

10. Privacy

10.1.  Personal information collected in connection with this Competition will be used by the Promoters solely for the purposes of administering the Competition and notifying the winner. 

10.2.  By entering, participants consent to their name and entry content being published on the Promoters’ social media channels in connection with the Competition. 

10.3.  Personal information will be handled in accordance with Gilbert’s and NZ Rugby’s respective privacy policies and applicable privacy legislation in Australia and New Zealand. 

11. Platform Disclaimer

This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram or TikTok. By entering, participants release Instagram and TikTok from any and all liability in connection with this Competition. All Competition enquiries should be directed to @gilbertrugby_ausnz, not to Instagram or TikTok.  

12. General Conditions

12.1.  The Promoters reserve the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the Competition at any time if circumstances beyond their control make it necessary to do so. 

12.2.  The Promoters reserve the right to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, acts in bad faith, or breaches these Terms & Conditions. 

12.3.  These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand. 

12.4.  If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be severed and the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
